Winter and wrecking havoc on our skin.

Living in the city, is so drying to ones skin. We have the double whammy of being outside alot,  winds that strip the hydration from our skin, the cold weather and then the usually over heated apartments we live in.

If your like me, in your forties or older, this adds to the havoc winter plays on your skin. If your not like me but in your 20′s or 30′s  the winter still plays havoc with your skin, just not as severe.

Have you heard that we have 3 minutes once out of the shower to apply our moisturizers, to lock in the moisture? If you do not do this, hours later your skin is dry  scaly and  itchy.  I try to keep my face wet, get my moisturizer on my body, then pat dry my face (I used my cleanser in the shower) and take care of toning, eyes, moisturizer. The four steps are:  Cleanse, Tone, Serum, Moisturizer,  I get my eye gelee and Les Sorbet on in this regime too.

Tomorrow, Some things we can use to help combat dry winter skin.

I’ve tried a few different lotions to keep my skin moisturized during winter but for me one of the most effective products is plain old vaseline gel, and I would also suggest putting on baby oil especially before going to bed.

    Hi Aleisha
I know that runner will apply Vaseline to their faces when running in the cold, because it is a great barrier. I myself so would not, nor would I use baby oil on my face, both will block the pores terribly. We each muct do what we feel is best for us. I do hope that you are exfoliating reglularly using the vaseline and the baby oils on your face. This way you can keep ahead of the blocked pores.
I found a dry oil that I do apply to my face, that I really like.
