A Bad situation.

I know New Jersey called a State of Emergency,   so why did the city of New York not do the same?,  this is the question I have. I know, if your not living here, this means absolutely nothing to you, but it has many of us NY’ers very very frustrated and upset, and rightly so. Thanks for letting me vent here on the blog.

Snow,snow and more snow.

We here in the Northeast United States endured a BLIZZARD, it arrived on Sunday and snowed all thru til Monday afternoon. NYC, had 20 plus inches and this blizzard has brought this city to its knee’s. So, snow bound, I started dreaming of skiing. I love Woodstock,VT so I went to the website of the famed Woodstock Inn, Woodstock, Vermont.

I think I may be visiting Vermont after all this winter, even though it is a six hour trip from the city. My husband does not ski, so I have to find a friend to ski with. I am thinking of skiing in all this snow, but I have a cruise coming on January 14th…. hmmm warmth?  snow?   warmth? snow?  Why not both?

Cupcake Vineyards, yes its true.

I went shopping to buy Prosecco, the Italian version of France’s Champagne and this bottle caught my attention.Well the label caught my eye. Cupcake Vineyards, Hmmm, why would that be?  It was in the right price range, as I would be buying six bottle for my holiday party this weekend past.

I was very impressed with the Prosecco as were my guests, we drank all six bottles, I have to go and buy more to keep in the house. If you come across Cupcake Vineyards pick some up and give the Prosecco a try.

This is my last post related to cupcakes….do you see my obsession NOW?  What is it about cupcakes, why are they so popular? I read over the weekend that Whoopie Pies are the nest big thing, pushing cupcakes out… My Mom used to make Whoopie Pies  for my sisters and I and, I do enjoy a good Whoopie Pie,I do.  I believe  the reason that cupcakes are so popular is that, it is a mini cake, no knife or fork needed and more calorie control, well sometimes I have control.

During my twenties, I worked in NYC in advertising (for fast food giant, Burger King, among others). I have been baking since I was a wee tot and studied pastry at Peter Kump’s (now called the Institute of Culinary Education) in Manhattan.

Eat cupcakes, MUST exercise…

The girls, (  I call my  boobs,”the girls” tmi sorry!!!),  this webpage  is The Girls  an exercise wear company, all affordable. I just watched a segment on TV while doing my Magnolia Bakery post,and I must say very apropos.

The representative from The Girls, said that the celebs are loving the exercise wear, Katie Holmes, Nicole Richie,Lauren Conrad…. I,myself may be wearing a few new pieces. I started working out with a trainer KJ, she comes to my buildings gym here in the city twice a week, I am also scheduled to go to the gym  myself and do cardio a few times a week myself. I have been pretty good with getting 45 minutes on the machines( sometimes 1X or 2x ) and I have noticed a change in my looking more tone and I am pleased. So, I am thinking a few new pieces are in order. Let’s take a look at THE GIRLS:
